Candace provides immigration services to Intended Parents who are pursuing surrogacy arrangements internationally whether here in the U.S. or abroad by providing advice and assistance in obtaining a U.S. passport for the child.
Adoption services
Attorney Candace O’Brien has many years of experience in directing a licensed child placement agency specializing in international adoption. As such, she specializes in assisting adoptive parents with complex situations that can arise out of the adoption process abroad, mainly:
- 1. Notice of Intent to Deny – Candace O’Brien can assist adoptive parents and/or agencies in preparing a response to USCIS’ Notice of Intent to Deny which must be done within 30 days of notice.
- 2. Final Denial of Orphan Visa – Candace O’Brien can assist in preparing an appeal to a Final Denial of the orphan visa.
- 3. Adoption Disruption – When an international adoption placement fails, the emotional toll that this process creates for the adoptive parents, the adopted child/ren and other children in the home can be enormous. Candace O’Brien has the experience and ability to bring together the resources that will allow for the most compassionate and appropriate resolution to this process.
Candace’s extensive knowledge of the foreign adoption process and years of experience in developing and directing foreign adoption programs provides invaluable insight and knowledge to the successful outcome of any of these complex issues.
